According to Ms. Munira Mahadi, a Natural Resources and Environmental Health Expert at the Harari Regional Health Bureau, improper disposal of liquid and solid waste can cause significant harm to natural resources and the environment. She emphasized the importance of proper waste management practices and urged the community to dispose of waste responsibly.
She further highlighted that promoting the use of latrines is essential for preventing communicable diseases and improving public health outcomes within the community.
Ms. Munira also noted the need to strengthen and improve waste management systems within health facilities to ensure a cleaner and safer healthcare environment.
The awareness-raising training was attended by health professionals representing various health facilities across the region.
